During my time as the Production Manager at the Frozen River Film Festival, I had the privilege of collaborating with an exceptional team. This annual event, located in Winona, MN, has experienced significant growth, expanding its scope to include a variety of events throughout the year, with the primary highlights occurring over two full-days over one weekend in February.
In my capacity as Production Manager, my responsibilities encompassed the comprehensive process of hiring, training, and orchestrating venue managers, technicians, and volunteers. A crucial aspect of my role involved recruiting dedicated volunteers for each venue. This intricate task required adept organizational and training skills, as I meticulously coordinated, prioritized, and delegated responsibilities to both volunteers and venue managers. This included the meticulous planning and timing of load-in and load-out procedures to ensure the seamless execution of events.
Taking a proactive approach, I developed a thorough risk management plan to address potential challenges. Given our location in Minnesota, crafting a strategic plan specifically addressing weather-related issues became paramount to ensure patrons' seamless attendance at events. Beyond weather-related risk management, the plan incorporated emergency response protocols, evacuation procedures, and efficient communication strategies, offering a structured framework for swift and decisive actions in unforeseen circumstances. These initiatives played a crucial role in cultivating a secure and resilient festival environment, with a primary focus on prioritizing the well-being of all stakeholders involved.
Furthermore, my role extended to the coordination of food vendors and non-profit tabling booths, serving as a valuable link to the community by providing information about the organization. I undertook the task of organizing these elements to enhance the overall festival experience and foster meaningful connections between the community and the festival's mission. Through this multifaceted role, I not only contributed to the logistical success of the events but also played a pivotal role in creating an engaging and informative atmosphere for both participants and attendees.
