My philosophy on health is basically summed up by the phrase above. Eat for wellness, not for weight loss. When we eat and cook for wellness, a natural and healthy weight usually follows. So many people focus on loosing weight and don't pay enough attention to the how. How we loose weight is extremely important, it affects the way we look and feel about ourselves. I prefer to focus on individuals to figure out what health is for them, and we can decide what plan is best from there.
Goal - Changing the way we look at health will help us focus on ourselves, inside and out. By moving the focus from weight loss we are allowing ourselves embrace all aspects of health.
28 Day Increase is a program I created to focus on increasing healthy items and activities. In this program you assess where you are in these aspects (water intake, fruit and veggie consumption, activity level, and mindfulness). This program meets you where you already are, and you focus on adding more of these items every day. The program lasts for 28 days (or 4 weeks) and has 4 levels which last one week each. Read more about the 28 Day Increase to see if its right for you.
Goal - Increase healthy items and actives without eliminating things. Let the less healthy option fall away instead of focusing on pushing them out.
Starting your health journey is often very intimidating. There are so many aspects to think about! I prefer to break it up into section, all of which revolve around what we put into our bodies. I start by taking doing a pantry inventory, the move on to meal planning, and finally we plan a grocery shopping trip! The grocery shopping trip will have a detailed list of items to buy, all of which should help you with your meal plan and will change what your pantry inventory looks like!
Goal - Increase the number of healthful foods that are kept in the house. By making the healthful foods readily available we are more likely to consume them on a regular basis.
