Salads

Salads are one of my favourite main courses. Yes, you read that right, MAIN COURSE. So many people think salads are eaten to lose weight or at the beginning of dinner because that is what we are often taught to do. I prefer to view salads as a main course because there are so many ways to make a salad. I could eat one for dinner every day and never get bored! Leafy greens are just one ingredient to these bad boys. There are so many different ways to throw them together it's mind blowing! We made these salads last spring, and I cannot wait for strawberries to be back in season! Below are some great ingredients that you can mix and match when throwing together your salad. 

Mix and match any of the following ingredients to create your very own salad masterpiece! This is not a complete list of salad ingredients; so feel free to comment anything we may have missed or add a picture of your salad! 

Leafy Greens: 
Spinach
Kale
Sprouts
Lettuce
Arugula
Beet Greens

Nuts:
Sunflower seeds
Cashews
Almonds
Walnuts
Pistachios
Pecans

Beans: 
Garbanzos/Chickpeas
Black beans

Fruit/Veggie:
Blueberries
Strawberries
Raspberries
Blackberries
Avocado
Beets
Carrots
Cucumbers

Peppers (green, yellow, red, or orange)

Cheese:
Goat Cheese

Dressings... Vinaigrette dressings are the bomb, especially if you have fruit. Otherwise, we have a homemade ranch recipe on the way!
